BBC News reports that:
Tokyo has been chosen to host the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games ahead of Istanbul and Madrid. The Japanese capital won a majority of second round votes from the International Olympic Committee members in Buenos Aires to beat Istanbul. After tying with the Turkish city in the first round, Madrid was earlier eliminated in a tiebreak by 49-45.
