Spirit and Life Devotional: Do You Want to Be Made Well?

If you can get whatever you've always wanted right now, that would make you very glad. Right? Yes. Imagine having an infirmity for thirty eight years. If a man is sick for that long, he has obviously forgotten what it means to be healthy and the sickness has actually become a part of him. God forbid!

A certain man had an infirmity for thirty eight years, and was by the pool called Bethesda in Jerusalem. This man was by the pool for many years waiting for that certain time when an angel of God would stir the pool, making healing available for the first person to get in. That certain man couldn't be healed because in his condition he couldn't get into the water as quickly as possible.

Notice that he had no helper. Meaning that no one was interested in helping him; his family had abandoned him; his friends had ignored him; he was left there to probably die; to them, he would never make it again. But I love the man, he never gave up! Though he couldn't move as fast as he wanted, he never stopped believing that he could be healed; he never stopped seeing himself whole again; he never left that pool!

Jesus saw his faith, went just to him and asked, "Do you want to be made well?" The man didn't have to say yes, because Jesus had already seen his faith: and Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and walk." And immediately the man was made well! (John 5:1-9) Hallelujah! If you are in need of healing, I have prayed for you; Jesus makes you well now! Receive your healing, in the name of Jesus! Amen.
