Spirit & Life Devotional: Prayer Answering God

"And Asa cried out to the Lord his God, and said, 'Lord, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You!'” II Chronicles 14:11 NKJV

There are so many prayers in the Bible, and God heard them and granted their petitions. Jabez prayed, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” The Bible says that God granted him what he requested. Without much ado! That, and many others are enough proof that God answers prayers.

How To Tell If Someone Is Lying By Reading Their Body Language

Telling white lies and fibs are something that just about everyone does from time to time. In fact, they can even be necessary for your survival. If a woman asks you, "Hunny do these pants make me look fat"? It is in your best interest to say NO, even if you are blatantly lying to your significant other's face. However, some situations have higher stakes (no pun intended), and having the ability to know when someone is lying to you can be crucial. Luckily, being able to detect the signs of a lie can be learned by reading the person's body language.

Joseph Prince Daily Grace Inspirations: Blessed Are Your Baskets, Kneading Bowls And Nets!

Deuteronomy 28:5
“Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.

In Bible times, reapers carried baskets on their backs to collect the harvest from the fields. They had to ensure that their baskets were strong and sturdy, so that what they collected would not fall out. The women of that day used kneading bowls to knead dough for making bread. If they used poor-quality bowls which broke easily, they would not be able to make bread.

Spirit & Life Devotional: Lovers Of Money

"Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Him to them. And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. So he sought how he might conveniently betray Him." Mark 14:10-11 NKJV

Someone who loves money can do anything, or, nearly anything for money. A person who loves money will sacrifice even the best relationships just to have money; he doesn't mind doing what even his conscience is against as long as he lays hold of money! No wonder the Bible says that the love of money is the root of all evil.

Spirit And Life Devotional: Obey God's instructions

"I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me!" Proverbs 5:13 NKJV

The wise man to his son about adultery: "Therefore hear me now, my children, and do not depart from the words of my mouth. Remove your way far from her, and do not go near the door of her house, lest you give your honor to others, and your years to the cruel one; lest aliens be filled with your wealth, and your labors go to the house of a foreigner; and you mourn at last, when your flesh and your body are consumed, and say: 'How I have hated instruction, and my heart despised correction! I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me! I was on the verge of total ruin, in the midst of the assembly and congregation.'”

Joseph Prince Devotion: No Leaven But The Truth

Leviticus 2:11
‘No grain offering which you bring to the Lord shall be made with leaven, for you shall burn no leaven nor any honey in any offering to the Lord made by fire.

When I was a young Christian, I heard of an illustration for Psalm 23 about shepherds who sometimes break the legs of sheep which habitually stray, so as to teach them not to stray. That erroneous teaching—“The Lord is my Shepherd, He breaketh my legs”—stuck with me for years, causing me needless fear of God’s punishment when I felt that I had strayed from Him.

#HappyBirthdayGEJ: 3 Things I Admire Most About Jonathan

Three things I admire (most) about Goodluck Jonathan are his Love, Patience and Self-Control. It's no coincidence that they are all fruits of the Spirit the Bible speaks about in Galatians 5:22-23.

He faced so much opposition and criticism as President but kept calm the whole time and focused on his vision. He did more for the people that didn't love him than the people than loved him.

No critic of his government was bullied, arrested, tormented or killed. Nobody went on political exile. There was so much press freedom. Social media commentators had the time of their lives.

He put Nigeria first before his personal ambition.

I celebrate Goodluck Jonathan as he turns 58 today. May God satisfy him with his goodness and longlife. Amen.

10 Anti-Aging Tips to Keep You Looking Young, Fresh and Glorious

c) 123RF Stock Photos

You have heard the phrase “to age gracefully”, as soon as you reach your twenties you should seriously start thinking about anti-aging. It is not reserved for old people. As a matter of fact the earlier you start taking the right steps to stay young and glorious, the better. Here are 10 anti-aging tips to keep you young, fresh and good looking.

1.    Eat Right
Do not eat just anything, eating healthy makes you feel and look good outside as well as internally. Excessive meat and full-fat diary increases wrinkles. Eat foods rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids such as fruit, fish, vegetables. Foods like avocado, spinach, and watermelon have anti-aging properties.

2.    Wear Bright
In choosing your wardrobe wear bright colours near your face. Drab colours like brown, black, and deep dark colours drains energy from your face and makes you look older.

Joseph Prince Devotional: Just Trust God's Goodness & Pray In The Spirit

1 Corinthians 14:14
For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.

God has given us a powerful prayer gift—praying in tongues, which is not limited by distance, time or head knowledge. When you pray in tongues, you could be praying for your future or even a loved one overseas. You won’t know what you are praying unless God tells you. This is because your “understanding is unfruitful”—your mind is not involved.

“But Pastor Prince, I must know what I am praying!”

Spirit & Life Devotional: Use Me

"So he, trembling and astonished, said, 'Lord, what do You want me to do?' Then the Lord said to him, 'Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.'” Acts 9:6 NKJV
A man said to me recently, "You are here in the office and cannot always move around, use me to do the things you need to do; send me to places; let me work for you; I am willing to work for you." Wow! It got me thinking: that's a man willing to be used by another man, for a token I believe; how many of us are that willing to be used by God?

God needs workers! A lot of us don't seem to understand that yet, that's why even Christians would rather complain about the number of churches than the number of bars and clubs. God has need of people in several areas of life. God needs people in the government houses, God needs people in the legislative houses, God needs people in the courts, in the hospitals, banks, markets, and everywhere else!
