Spirit and Life Devotional: In Possession of Several Blank Cheques

Imagine being given a blank cheque by the richest man in the world, that is, a cheque without a name, without an amount, signed and confirmed okay to pay any amount written on it when presented by any bearer; whose name would you put on it, and how much would you write on it?

What if the most powerful man on earth, probably the president of the most powerful country in the world, assured you that he would do anything you ask him to do for you or for anyone else, and you're so sure that it would be done; what would you ask for?

But neither the richest man nor the most powerful man are richer or stronger than Christ! Jesus has all power in heaven and on earth, and all riches are His! And He has said, "Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it." John 14:13&14. Hallelujah! Wow! Awesome!

Hold on a minute! Before you go asking for all manner of things, there's a caveat - please note that whatever you intend to ask for has to be according to His will: "Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him." 1 John 5:14&15

  1. I like this. An open cheque for anything according to God's will.
