So Globacom recently dropped some old Nollwood ambassadors, cos they recently signed on naija singers. 360nobs boss, Noble Igwe tweeted the news with a rather condescending headline referring to the Nollywood celebs as "Has-Beens". Rita Dominic, one of the ex-ambassadors, replied his tweet with finesse. LOL

I think its quite rude and insensitive for someone to call another person a "has been", but ofcourse people can be uncouth and mean. Rita Dominic is right, it takes someone who has been something to become a has been.
ReplyDeleteI don't get Noble Igwe at all. How can someone be a "has been" simply because a brand has dropped the person? Is a person's worth tied to a brand gig? Is Rita Dominic's worth as an entertainer or actress tied to Globacom? I remember when a major clothing brand dropped Angelina Jolie about 4 or so years back claiming that she had become too big for their brand. How did that affect her worth as a professional actress? Nigerians have to wake up and be more aware of life and reality. As a Nigerian I am sometimes ashamed about how people reason.
