This pastor likes groove sha. Kai!
Pastor Rodney Willis was the Senior Pastor of Mt. Salem Baptist Church, North Carolina Parish until his love for Hip-hop got in the way of his calling.
The groovy pastor was spotted at a Rick Ross concert last Saturday (4th August), word quickly got to the deacons of the church and they met (that same night) to deliberate on his matter and decided to let him go. Out of 14 deacons, 11 voted against his actions. "We know that many saints will have mixed opinion from our actions, but this is not how we do things here at Mt. Salem," explained deacon Miles Langley.
Pastor Rodney got the shocker when he showed up for church the next day his parking spot was gone, and a guest minister was put in his place.
Ross is known to rap about drugs, sex and violence — topics of which are unacceptable for a Mt. Salem preacher to stand behind. "We cannot have a pastor praising the world one minute then praising the Lord the next," Langely continued, adding that Willis attended a Lil Wayne concert nine months ago.
What can I say? I can't even muster an opinion on this.
