"Human beings born by women are short-lived and full of trouble." Job 14:1. Trouble is real and ever present, and sometimes it is very serious. As long as we are alive, there'll always be some kind of trouble. Job 5:7 says mankind is born headed for trouble, just as sparks soar skyward. That's bad news for those who always say they don't like trouble!
Well, not many people like trouble, but we can't really avoid it. However, the presence of trouble is no reason to fear especially when you're born again. Why? Because we have a Stronghold! Hallelujah!
Nahum 1:7 says that the LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble! Hallelujah! I like Young's Literal Translation of it: "Good is Jehovah for a strong place in a day of distress." Wow! David experienced a lot of trouble, and he knew God as a stronghold. He said, "For he will conceal me when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock." Psalm 27:5. Amen.
God is our ever present help in time of trouble. This week, may you be saved from all trouble! When trouble shows its ugly head, remember, good is Jehovah for a strong place in a day of distress. Seek refuge in Him and He will deliver you. It is well with you.
