American actor, Lee Thompson commits suicide after practicing 'Yoruba'

Former Disney child actor Lee Thompson Young died on Monday Lee Thompson Young, who played the main character on Disney's "The Famous Jett Jackson" has died after a suicide, TMZ reported. He was 29. Young's body was discovered with a gunshot wound that appears to be self-inflicted.Young currently appears in the TNT show "Rizzoli & Isles" and told when he didn't show up to work Monday morning, staffers called the landlord of Young's L.A. home to check up on the actor. When the landlord opened the door, he discovered Young's body.

Now speculations surround the cause of death of the young actor. E online is reports that the actor's behaviour changed after he 'began practicing Yoruba'. Yes, Yoruba, what we know to be a major language in Nigeria.

Read E online's report below...
"The Rizzoli & Isles star, who was 29 at the time of his death, "didn't drink or party," says a source, adding,  "He was the opposite. Lee loved to travel and was always the first to tell everyone to take a breath and enjoy the beauty of life." He was always "gentle and unassuming," despite his early success, and didn't have the typical "look-at-me" attitude.
That said, those close to Young noticed things "really changed" a few years ago when he began practicing Yorùbá, an Africa-based religion which has a saying, "iku ya j'esin",meaning "death is preferable to ignominy." Some have questioned whether this means that suicide is an acceptable way to preserve personal or family honor in the face of public shame.

However, Yorùbá culture icon and Chief Priest of Osogbo, Araba Ifayemi Osundagbonu Elebuibon, told theNational Mirror earlier this year that the religion "[does] not support suicide. Their belief is that if somebody commits suicide, they will be punished in the hereafter."

The Famous Jett Jackson star "took [his religion] to the next level and started wearing white all of the time," says a source, adding, "This religion was everything to him."  Although he reportedly took a break from practicing Yorùbá, he recently returned to the religion. Just before his death, he visited a small village in Africa for something reportedly related to the religion.

    1. It's heartbreaking. No parent should bury their child. I feel bad when i see young stars die in their prime. Suicide is just selfish, now his family is hurting.

    1. It's sad Oluwatosin. I wonder why they think suicide is the answer, they forget the eternal misery they'll face in hell. No matter how bad it gets, a living dog is better than a dead lion. Speak life!

  3. Christians need to rise up and pray. This month alone this is the second suicide in Hollywood that I have heard of.

    1. Edikan, the number is even more. I see funny Hollywood deaths almost on daily basis. Many are not well known that's why we son't get to hear about it.

But, I don't this suicide thing. It's clearly demonic. We need to rise up and pray as you've said.
