Oscar Pistorius cried in court today as he was indicted on a premeditated murder charge. The blade runner shot his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp dead in his home on valentines day, 14th February, 2013 after mistaking her for an intruder.
On the day that would have been Steenkamp's 30th birthday, Pistorius stood in the dock of the courtroom in Pretoria, South Africa, and wiped away tears. He also held hands with his brother Carl and sister Aimee. The prosecutor in the case said the dates of 3 to 20 March had been mutually agreed for the trial.
If found guilty of premeditated murder, Pistorius will face at least 25 years in prison.
This makes me sick. He ended someone else's life on a whim. He can create life? On being indicted, he starts crying. WTF? What about Reeva who is gone forever? Yet he stands there crying like a little punk cos he has been indicted.
ReplyDeleteEdikan, your comment puts this whole matter in perspective. The victim is dead and gone forever. He is alive and the least the system can do for her is get her justice. Let's hope justice prevails.
DeleteOscar shouldn't have also killed any supposed intruder as he can't create life, But he hasn't been found guilty by a competent court so we all should wait for the outcome.
ReplyDeleteChigbo, you're right! Even if it were truly an intruder he shouldn't have shot to kill. It is wrong to take another man's life. Let's see how the court proceedings go.
DeleteAnyway. If I should judge him according to the bible I think he should be dead by hanging .cos the bible says that he who kills by sword dies by sword .in my judgement, I think he should be sentenced for life that's the penalty for killing A soul.so pistorius.
