The word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).
No doubt, the word of God is powerful; but what baffles me is the fact that though some people keep hearing the word day in and day out, on and on, there's hardly a noticeable change in their lives, lifestyle and situations.
When a sick man hears the word, he should be healed all things being equal, when a poor man receives the word, he should start being rich, all things being equal; and when a sinner hears the word, he should also be saved; because the word of God comes with sufficient power to accomplish its assignment! The problem therefore, is with how people receive it. Hebrews 4:2 says, "For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it."
God's word is potent enough to give you any miracle you desire, to change any unpleasant situations, and to effect any change in your body, your environment, your work and in your life: don't let it be unprofitable to you, receive it with faith; nothing is too difficult or too lofty for the word.

Thanks for this post. This morning I read the devotional like I usually do in the morning, then went to church and acted on the message from the devotional. Now I feel so blessed, God is good.
