How Sugar In Processed Foods Affects Your Health Negatively

Too much of a good thing can be harmful. Too much of a bad thing can be even worse. In the case of high fructose corn syrup, too much of a bad thing can be toxic. This is one ingredient that you should leave out of your diet completely.
Many processed foods and sodas have high fructose corn syrup. It is everywhere. It is also one of the reasons that we have gone from eating and average of 20 teaspoons of sugar per person per year to 150 pounds per year. That is a lot of sugar. Where is it all going? Right to your liver. When they process high fructose corn syrup they take the sugar and separate the fructose and the glucose that are normally bound together. This sends the fructose right to you liver when you eat it. Then you develop a condition called fatty liver. Eventually if you eat enough of the syrup, you could get diabetes. Diabetes leads to heart attacks, strokes, and death from diabetes-related complications.

Not only is there all of that sugar in high fructose corn syrup but there is also chemicals that get in there from the process of making the syrup. One of the biggest chemicals that is left in, especially in sodas is chloralkai. This chemical contains small amounts of mercury in it. The more you eat and drink high fructose corn syrup over time, the more you are getting the heavy metal in your body.
When you see high fructose corn syrup on the label of your favorite food, you can bet that it is not good for you. Go through you cabinets and throw it all away. If you want to have sugar you can, but have real sugar, not a processed sugar that is added on top of natural sugar.
