Someone sang, "Thank God man no be God, for if man be God I for don die." In other words, he was thankful that God isn't like man because if He were, we would have all been dead by now.
Why are we so quick to condemn and judge ourselves? Why are we so quick to throw stones at each other? Why is it so easy for us to see the tiny specks in the eyes of others ignoring the logs in our own? Why is it convenient and interesting for us to talk about the sins of others as if we have never sinned? Thank God man no be God o!
Jesus didn't come into the world to condemn us,
but that we might be saved (John 3:17). Jesus came because God so loved
us. God loves us and is not willing that any should perish no matter how much
we have sinned or how terrible our sins are! If the Scribes and Pharisees had
known they wouldn't have taken the woman caught in adultery to Jesus. Instead
of rebuking her or suspending her from church or stopping her from taking
communion or asking others not to associate with her, Jesus said to her,
"Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more." Hallelujah!
Our duty as believers is to draw men closer to
God, not away from Him. It is our duty to let men know that God is in love with
them, and that He is ever ready to forgive their sins (Psalm 86:5). Have you
sinned? Repent, confess your sins, and receive forgiveness; then go to church
and thank Him!
