Teenager Caught Shoplifting, With Dead Baby in Shopping Bag

On Thursday Police were called to a Victoria Secret store in New York after a security guard on the lookout of shoplifters searched two 17-year-old girls and discovered a strong odour coming from one of their bags; and found a fetus.

The girls were arrested on charges of petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, police said. The teenager who is thought to have given birth was hospitalized, and the other teenager was questioned by police.

*Latest reports indicate that the teenager, Tiona Rodriguez, 17 from Brooklyn gave birth to the baby the previous day but had no idea what to do with it. Earlier on her Facebook page she had described having bad cramps.

The results of an autopsy could determine whether two teenage girls are hit with serious charges. 

The circumstances surrounding the delivery of the fetus was not clear but the fetus is believed to have been in the sixth month of development. The medical examiner's office was performing an autopsy on the remains, and more charges could follow depending on the results.
