Say What? UK University Applies To Trademark Rude Word: C*NT

Newcastle University has applied to trademark a rude word in an attempt to rebrand itself. The University has submitted an application to patent C*NT - or Central University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
If you are a student of the university I guess when someone asks you “in which university do you study?”, your reply would be “C*NT”. How original!
A Newcastle University spokesman claimed that they have registered these new trademarks to help students who may be searching for them on the web, international students in particular.

It would be interesting to see the other rude words organisations apply to patent.
