To be lovesick refers to the exhibition of the yearning of a lover. Reminds me of the psalm of David when he was in the wilderness; he said, "O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water." Psalm 63:1
The Shulamite in Song of Solomon 5 shows us what it means to be lovesick: she was struck and wounded by the watchmen while she sought her lover; her veil was taken away from her by them, yet she wasn't deterred from searching for her lover. She said to the daughters of Jerusalem, "If you find my beloved, tell him that I am lovesick!"
It is written that we should love the Lord with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our strength, and with all our mind. What's your desire for God like? Do you yearn for Him? Do you constantly desire to be in His presence and to fellowship with Him? How often do you read His word? Are you devoting your energy, time and resources to His business?
God is not looking for more churchgoers; He's not looking for people who can quote Scriptures and talk a lot about Him; rather He seeks men and women who are madly in love with Him; people eager to do something for Him; people who will sacrifice anything just to be with Him! Lovesick?
