A 37 year old man, Wasiu Yusuf, living in Ilorin, Nigeria on Tuesday told
an Ilorin Area Court that his wife, Aminat, talks too much and wants his
marriage to her dissolved on this ground. They got married in 2009 and have a
son.
Wasiu prayed the court to dissolve the four-year-old
marriage, said:
“My wife reveals all our family affairs to her friends,
colleagues and business associates due to her talkative nature.’’
He said his wife could not keep the family secrets away
from the public.
“My Lord, I want
an end to this marriage because I cannot tolerate her talkative habit anymore,”
said the complainant.
The defendant, his wife objected to the divorce prayer on
the grounds that she was still interested in the marriage.
She said “My lord, I promise to remain mute on my family
issue for the sake of my marriage,” she said. She prayed the court for an adjournment
to enable her make reconciliatory moves.
The presiding judge, Ibrahim Abdulquadri, adjourned the
case to Nov. 7 for possible amicable settlement between the parties or
continuation of hearing.

On the surface this sounds funny, however beneath it all this man must have really suffered for the few years they have been married. Imagine being married to someone who tells your private business to everyone? I am creeped out already

ReplyDeleteIt must have become unbearable for this man, though it seems odd that someone should cite this as a reason for divorce. Marriage is supposed to be for better for worse
