10 Anti-Aging Tips to Keep You Looking Young, Fresh and Glorious

You have heard the phrase “to age gracefully”, as soon as you reach your twenties you should seriously start thinking about anti-aging. It is not reserved for old people. As a matter of fact the earlier you start taking the right steps to stay young and glorious, the better. Here are 10 anti-aging tips to keep you young, fresh and good looking.

1.    Eat Right
Do not eat just anything, eating healthy makes you feel and look good outside as well as internally. Excessive meat and full-fat diary increases wrinkles. Eat foods rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids such as fruit, fish, vegetables. Foods like avocado, spinach, and watermelon have anti-aging properties.

2.    Wear Bright
In choosing your wardrobe wear bright colours near your face. Drab colours like brown, black, and deep dark colours drains energy from your face and makes you look older.


3.    Oysters
Apart from being an aphrodisiac oysters enhance the beauty of your skin. They contain vitamin B12 and iron which help overcome pale and yellow skin and the dark circles under your eyes which make you look older.
  
4.    Exercise – Pilates and Tae Bo
Pilates can take years away off the way you look and feel by building your body’s core strength. Tae bo helps to build muscles, burn fat as well as sculpt your body giving you a more youthful appearance and posture. Exercise generally helps to keep you looking and feeling young.

5.            Skin Moisturizers
Skin moisturizers are a must for everyone. It helps your skin maintain its youthfulness. Especially look out to use moisturizers that contain SPF of at least 15. It protects your skin from the harmful effects of free radicals that age the skin.

6.            Drink Water
According to dermatologists water intake is essential to younger looking skin. It helps if you drink water first thing in the morning and also drink water regularly through the day. Aim to drink up to 8 glasses of water a day. You tend to notice the difference in a short time.


7.     Stress
Stress is a major contributor to accelerating the aging process. It upsets the body’s normal balance, which can speed up skin aging producing lines, wrinkles and sagging skin. Learning to manage stress more positively will be a real boost for your own healthy aging. Use relaxation CDs and breathing exercises. Also learn time management and create a stress free zone in your life where you drop all the stress.

8.     Stop Smoking
Smoking does not only cause problems on the inside, it seriously ages you as well. It reduces collagen in the skin which makes the skin saggy and stops the blood flow which means oxygen supply to your skin is reduced. It also creates wrinkles around the mouth.

9.     Sleep
While you are asleep all the cells in the body repair and recover. In addition melatonin is released which boosts your skin and immune system. Aim to get at least 7 hours of sleep and you will be fighting (and winning) the aging process.

There are anti-aging facial cleansers available which helps to reduce the visible signs of aging as well as treat your skin while rejuvenating it. You can also create home-made facial masks that renew your skin and keeps aging at bay. Masks that contain elements like avocado, honey work against aging. Just search and find what works for you.
