Ever wondered why you were saved? You were saved, 1) to have a relationship with the Father; 2) to be delivered from death and destruction; 3) that you may have eternal life; and 4) that you might be a witness of the goodness of God.
1 Peter 2:9 says we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that we should show forth the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvellous light. Hallelujah.
To show forth the praises of God means "so we can show others the goodness of God" (NLT); "to proclaim the excellencies of God" (ESV); "to proclaim the wonderful deeds of God" (ISV); to proclaim the virtues of God" (NET); "to tell about the excellent qualities of God" (GWT); and "to make known the perfections of God" (WNT).
If you're not doing any of the above you're not fulfilling your purpose. You're not just a child of God; you're an ambassador of Christ; you're a resident representative of Jehovah in this world; sent on a divine errand to show forth the praises of God to a lost and perishing world. Let the world know through you how good the Lord is. Cheers.
