Man Dumps His 10-Year Live-in Girlfriend & Baby Mama After He Wins $338M Lottery

If there is any joy to be found in winning $338 million dollars, it is certainly eluding Pedro Quezada and his former live-in girlfriend of 10 years, Inez Sanchez. After winning the fourth largest lottery pot in history, their happy relationship has hit rock bottom and they now find themselves on opposite sides of a courtroom.

Sanchez is the mother of one of Quezada’s children. At a press conference held on the day he won the jackpot, he was appreciative of her standing by his side. One of the first things he had to say was that he would buy Sanchez “whatever she wants.”

Today he is singing a different tune.

For some reason, the man’s attitude changed after the money took a hold of his wife. Perhaps realizing that he suddenly had more dating options than before, he ended the 10 year relationship, thinking that he could walk away giving his child’s mother nothing more than a sweet goodbye. But not so fast.

When he was reluctant to share in his new-found wealth, Sanchez went ahead and took him to court. But, according Quezada’s attorneys, she is not entitled to a single red cent because she is not his wife.

On the other side, Sanchez’s lawyers say that she is entitled to some of the money because they had both purchased the winning ticket with their earnings as a couple.

In Superior Court, Judge Margaret Mary McVeigh acknowledged the relationship between Sanchez and Quezada and that they had both contributed to the welfare of their former household. She also decided not to throw out Sanchez’s lawsuit but that Quezada’s monies should be made available to him. The complainants had requested the court to freeze his assets.

It seems that the main concern that Sanchez had was that the money was fast disappearing: Of the $152 million Quezada pocketed after taxes, he sent $57 million back to his homeland of the Dominican Republic, $300,000 was spent on a Clifton, N.J., home, $5 million was given away and $20 million just disappeared into thin air.

The sympathetic judge had this to say: “It [the money] doesn’t always enhance a relationship, or bring out people’s better qualities. Her [Sanchez’s] life has been up-ended by this winning ticket. But I am a judge. I don’t create the law. I have to follow it.”
