A lot of people may be asking, how could a simple board full of ideas inspire a person to achieve success? The answer surprisingly simple - if you keep on reminding yourself of the goals you need to fulfil, then you condition your mind to think of nothing but achieving those goals. And a vision board is a simple yet "in-your-face" visual reminder in its purest form.

A vision board is much like a poster where you can paste pictures of the things you want. To a child, it is equivalent to a wish list. To an employee, it is a day's task list. To a business owner - it is a convergence of dreams that must come true.
The idea behind it is that if you surround yourself with constant reminders of the things you want and desire, your entire being is conditioned into moving, thinking and acting towards its achievement. Your psyche is bombarded with images of things that must happen. Much like goal setting, a vision board is the picture version of a list of goals which one must list down in order to remember. The more you write it, revise it, change it or tweak it - the more you will remind yourself that you must do it.

A visual board adds clarity to all your desires. The powerful imagery positively reinforces the goals which you would want to see through achievement. You inform your subconscious about your heart and mind's intentions - thus influencing every cell in your body to want it, desire it, and to get it. Because of this, previous overlooked opportunities are now given a second look, and all possible ways to achieve a dream are considered. As a result, doors which you previously never even noticed are opened, allowing you to find success in the most unlikely of places. A visual board can even be critical to your success.

Remember that our mind thinks in pictures, and always having those pictures fresh in your mind always reminds us of our desires to get what we want. The old saying "out of mind, out of heart; top of mind, top of heart" may be true for this particular situation.

So how do you make a great vision board?

Know what you want. Uh, quite self-explanatory. Know exactly what you want and avoid being too vague. Putting the picture of some random sports car in your vision board does not have as big of an impact as pasting the photo of a red Jaguar with a white stripe on each side. Also, avoid being a copycat with your desires. Just because your best friend wants that quaint 2-storey house at the corner of Main and North Blvd does not mean that you should want it too - especially if what you really want is that mansion on South Avenue..

Search for the exact photos. Scour the magazines. Search the internet. Take pictures - whatever it takes, do it. It will be fun - guaranteed.

Review . When you have a hundred pictures in front of you (?!), decide which exactly you want. Now don't be too ambitious by pinning photos of 15 cars - you will lose your focus. Pick one and go after it.

Arrange. Set all the pictures up in a visually-pleasing layout. Highlight the pictures of the things you want most.

Put up the board in a place where you will always see it. If it's in front of your desk, above your computer, or even on the fridge door (especially if you desire to lose weight) - set it up where you will see it the most. No sense making a vision board and hiding it behind the garage junk.

A vision board is indeed a great yet simple too that will help you get closer to success. Always believe that if you have the desire and the drive to make a dream come true - then you will make it a reality.
