Colossians
2:16-17 NKJV "So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a
festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but
the substance is of Christ."
You
know, some people have made themselves Big Brothers over others; they want to
be able to determine almost everything done by others; how many hours we should
pray, where we should go, the day and time we should worship, how we should
look, how we should talk, what we should eat, who we should talk to, etc.
Christmas
is here again and the arguments about if it should be celebrated would have
started. May I say this: how it started is irrelevant, why it started is
irrelevant, who started it is irrelevant! What is relevant is that about 2040
years ago, Jesus was born of virgin Mary to save us from sin and Satan and that
He fulfilled His purpose. I don't care about the date He was born; that too is
irrelevant! To celebrate Christmas is a choice that is neither right or wrong.
We
must stop wasting our time on shadows. While we condemn sin, we should
understand that some matters will always be disputable; and concerning such
Romans 14:22 NKJV says, "Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before
God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves."
"Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this,
not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way."
