I Peter 4:8 NKJV "And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”
I love Weymouth New Testament's version of the above verse: "Above all continue to love one another fervently, for love throws a veil over a multitude of faults."
Love throws a veil over a multitude of faults! In a place where the faults and sins of people are always a subject; in a place where there's always judgement; and in a place where people always find faults; check, there's little or no love there. Same applies to relationships. Where there's little or no forgiveness, there's little or no love. A place where errors cannot be pardoned and even overlooked has no love!
When Jesus said we are to forgive our brothers seventy times seven times in a day, He was really teaching us to have fervent love for one another: to forgive that long can only be possible if we love one another fervently. Dear Lord, create in me a heart like Yours! A heart full of compassion, patience and so much kindness; a heart that truly loves like You, dear Jesus!
