Spirit and Life Devotional: Maximizing Your Opportunity to Work

MAXIMIZING YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO WORK

Life, as I see it, is an opportunity. It is an opportunity to contribute something, to do something meaningful, to do my part; and since I was young I've been determined to live my footprints in the sands of time.

John 9:4 NLT says, "We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work." In other words, since we won't live here on earth twice, this is our only chance to carry out our assignments and fulfil our purposes. Death puts an end to our work and then we will give account to God.

But it's not enough to just work or do anything; how we do it, and how well we do it matters too. Ecclesiastes 9:10a says, "Whatever you do, do well." When God created the world, every thing He made was good. As His kids, we must always strive for excellence.

There's profit in every labour. Don't belittle whatever you are doing now or capable of doing. If God inspires you to do something, start it now! It may start very small; see it as a seed with potential of becoming a forest. Don't let challenges stop you, you can weather the storm. Cheers.
