ASUU Strike Update: Federal Government Extends Resumption Deadline to December 9

The government, through the acting Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, had ordered the striking members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to resume work on December 4.

The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Julius Okojie, announced the new date while addressing journalists in Abuja on Tuesday.

Mr. Okojie explained that “Government decided to shift the deadline after it received notification of Prof. Festus Iyayi’s funeral rites slated for between December 5 and 7.

Kanye West Displeased With Sound & Lighting In His Concert Blasts Technicians & Storms Off Stage

Kanye West is reported to have stopped a Florida concert midway to blast his technical crew before storming off the stage. He was performing at the Tampa Forum on Saturday night when he became suddenly displeased with the sound and lighting scheme.

Kanye was only a few seconds into his third song of the night when he demanded that the music be halted as he chewed out a sound tech for failing to get his levels right. He went on to scold a tech named Laura for failing to give him the ‘deep voice’ effect through the sound system.

The alleged tantrum was in front of 7,000 concert goers. Other complaints made by the Yeezus rapper included that his likeness on the massive LED screen projecting his image to the thousands gathered was in colour when it was supposed be monochrome. *sigh*

Paul Walker Crash On CCTV: Video of Porsche GT Spinning Off The Road Emerges [VIDEO & PHOTOS]

CCTV footage that reveals the precise moment Paul Walker's Porsche Carrera GT careened into a tree and burst into flames has been released - as one witness claimed that the crash was an accident not a drag race. Accident investigators 'have received eyewitness statements that the car involved was travelling alone at a high rate of speed' the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a written statement on Monday. 'No eyewitness has contacted the [department] to say there was a second vehicle.'

The surveillance footage shot from a nearby rooftop camera shows a plume of black smoke billow into the sky in the seconds after the crash, just moments before what appears to be a large detonation sends a huge fireball skywards.

ASUU Vows To Continue With Strike, Says Federal Government Can't Intimidate Them

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has insisted that the strike will continue until the Federal Government meets their demands. The president of the union, Nasir Fagge made this known in a press briefing held yesterday in Abuja. In his words, he said the union "shall never be cowed". He says ASUU cannot be intimidated by the Federal Government. Remember they were given a 7-day ultimatum to call off the strike, which ends on the 5th of December.

"We shall bow only to what we as academics are convinced will serve the interest of Nigeria and its people, no matter their ethnic, religious or class origins. This is where we stand. We shall never be cowed,"  Fagge said.

Anambra PDP Chairman Kenneth Emeakayi Abducted, Kidnappers Contact Family

The Chairman of PDP in Anambra State, Prince Kenneth Emeakayi, was kidnapped on Sunday 1st December by unknown gunmen. According to reports, Mr. Emekayi was abducted around the Agulu environs of the Anaocha Local Government Area of the state at about 8pm. The kidnappers have since made contact with his family and negotiations have begun.

3 Female Nigerian Pilgrims 'abscond' in Israel

Three females pilgrims from Kaduna State are  missing in Israel, Kaduna State officials reports. The 

The Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Bulus Zakka, made this known to newsmen at the state’s Bureau for Christian Religious Affairs. He suspects the ladies “absconded”. two of the missing pilgrims were from the second batch of pilgrims while one was from the first batch. 

Details of the missing ladies have been given to Israeli authorities, who are working tirelessly to locate them. 

“We have reported to the security agents of Israeli who are investigating and by the grace of God, they will be arrested. The security agencies are working round the clock to see that these people are arrested," says Zakka.

Forbes Africa names Minister of Agriculture Dr. Akinwumi Adesina Person of the Year 2013

Nigeria's Minister of Agriculture Dr. Akinwumi Adesina has just been awarded Person of the Year 2013 by Forbes Africa. The event is ongoing in Nairobi, Kenya. International media practitioner Victor Oladokun, who is in attendance, just made the announcement on his Facebook page. He wrote, "FORBES Africa has just announced its 2013 Person of the Year. The winner is ... Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, Nigeria's Minister of Agriculture. Proof positive that leadership is about transformational change."

Paul Walker Death: Actor & Singer Tyrese Breaks Down In Tears At Crash Site [PHOTOS]

Paul Walker's death still feels surreal to me. It's sad how someone could be so full of life one minute and the next minute gone...forever! A very painful way to die. His friends and colleagues are still having a hard time coming to terms with his demise. Paul Walker's Fast and Furious co-star Tyrese Gibson shed tears as he paid his respects at the site of the deadly car crash that took his friend's life.

Gibson joined fans gathered at the makeshift memorial in Santa Clarita to mourn Walker, who lost his life after the Porsche Carrera GT he was traveling in lost control and smashed into a tree before bursting into flames.

It has now emerged that a leaked scene from Fast & Furious 7 showed Walker and Gibson's characters at a funeral. Gibson says 'Promise me, no more funerals', only for Walker to reply: 'Just one more.' Crash witnesses described a wrenching moment when, seconds after the crash as the car still burned, Rodas's eight-year-old son scaled a fence to try and rescue his father.

Chilling! Mother Calmly Pushes Daughter to Beach Where She Left Her to Drown in Rising Tide [PICTURED]

This is the chilling image of a mother pushing her daughter to a beach where she left her to drown in the rising tide of the English Channel.

The mother of the child - Fabienne Kabou, 36, originally from Senegal, went missing for nine days after the girl's body was found by the coastal town of Berck-sur-Mer in northern France.

She has now been charged with first-degree murder and is facing life in prison.

The body of the 15-month-old girl was found by fishermen and an autopsy suggests the she drowned.

Prosecutors say Kabou admits she travelled with her daughter to the town from Paris with the intention of killing her.

Fast & Furious 7 Going Ahead Despite Death of Star Paul Walker

Paul Walker's final Fast & Furious film remains on course for a cinema release, despite the death of its 40-year-old star in a road accident on Saturday.

Reports have it that production on Fast & Furious 7 would be delayed, with the shoot in Atlanta unlikely to resume until today or tomorrow at the earliest. There were no plans to abandon the film, for which Walker had shot the majority of his scenes. However, the cast were due to travel to Abu Dhabi in January for an additional shoot and the movie was likely to be delayed beyond its planned July 2014 release date.

INEC Declares APGA's Willie Obiano Winner of Anambra Governorship Elections

 

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Anambra chapter declared today Sunday December 1st in Awka that Mr. Willie Obiano won the election by polling 180,178 votes in 19 local government areas in the state. He beat PDP candidate Tony Nwoye, to the second position with 97,700 votes and Senator Chris Ngige of the All Progressives Congress, who came third with 95,963. Ifeanyi Ubah, of Labour Party came fourth with 37,495.

"Fast & Furious" Filmmakers React to Paul Walker's Death, What Next for the Film?

Universal Pictures, who made all the "Fast and Furious" films, is mourning the loss of the franchise's star, Paul Walker. A rep of Universal pictures said;

"All of us at Universal are heartbroken. Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the FAST AND FURIOUS films, and to countless fans. We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul's family."

Walker died in a car crash yesterday in Santa Clarita, California. He was 40.

The actor was seen filming scenes for the upcoming "Fast & Furious 7" as recently as last week. It's unclear how Walker's death will affect filming or how far they had gone in filming.

Sad News: Fast & Furious Star Paul Walker Dies in Car Crash

Actor Paul Walker, best known for his roles in the “Fast and the Furious” action movies, died on Saturday in a car crash in southern California, his publicist said.

On Saturday November 30, at approximately 3:30 PM, Walker and a friend, identified as Roger Rodas by organizers for Walker's charity, Reach Out Worldwide (for victims of Typhoon Haiyan, left one of its events. Shortly after leaving in Rodas' car, the driver lost control and crashed into a light pole and tree in Valencia, Santa Clarita, California and the vehicle burst into flames. 

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department declared the two deceased at the scene. Coverage was first reported after Walker's publicist, Ame van Iden, confirmed early reports of his death. Rodas became friends with Walker after meeting at a race track. He became his financial adviser in 2007 and helped to establish Reach Out Worldwide. 

Rodas was the CEO of Always Evolving, a performance shop for high end vehicles owned by Walker, located in Valencia. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office stated that speed was a factor in the crash. Burned rubber and doughnut marks were found in figure 8 patterns on the road of the crash site, but it was not clear to officials if these were related to the crash.

II Samuel 18:3 NKJV "But the people answered, 'You shall not go out! For if we flee away, they will not care about us; nor if half of us die, will they care about us. But you  are worth ten thousand of us now. For you are now more help to us in the city.'"

In the passage above, David was said to be worth ten thousand men! This worth I'm referring to isn't about how much you own, but about how valuable you are as a person. I don't believe that anyone is worthless, it's just that many of us are sleeping giants.
