NOT A SECRET
Jesus said, "You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colours
in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as
public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm
going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand.
Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand - shine! Keep
open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt
people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16

I remember Daniel as I meditate on this: a decree was issued ordering
everyone to pray to only the king for thirty days, and that anyone who
disobeyed would be thrown into the lion's den. Despite the decree, Daniel was
unruffled and lived his life as usual; praying three times a day in front of an
open window!
Well, Daniel was thrown into the den, and miraculously delivered by God.
And as a result, a new decree was issued commanding all men to worship the God
of Daniel. Hallelujah! If Daniel had shut his window, or stopped praying
entirely, God wouldn't have been glorified.
There's something special in you that cannot, or should not be hidden:
it is whatever will bring glory to God. Your faith, termed precious, shouldn't
be hidden; the God-life in you should be manifested; the word of God in your
heart should be shared; your gifts, resources and talents, and every other God
given ability should be used glaringly with the aim of magnifying God.
A light is not a light to itself; it is rather a light to others. You're
the light of your world, shine!
