This US School has Christmas plays
every year which features Santa Claus, so parents where quite shocked and
disturbed to learn that the school had featured a thugged out character known
as “Gangsta Claus” in its Christmas play.
The “Gangsta Clause” was a play in which elves go on
strike and Santa turns straight gangsta. The play features people being killed including Santa
Claus himself and a Walmart Clerk. In the home video of the school Christmas
play acted by students, a dying Santa is seen placing a curse on the thug who
shot him, condemning the man to become the new Santa.
School officials have apologized for Gangsta Claus. “It
struck me as very inappropriate, and I thought poor judgment was used in the
selection of that particular play,” Magnolia Schools Superintendent Dr. John
Moore said. He said that the play was
selected by the drama teacher, as it is every year. He promises going forward
to “monitor that a little closer.”
The high school actors in the play did not have real
weapons, of course one parent, Mrs. Dickson was particularly upset at the
portrayal of weapons in the school’s skit.
This is disgraceful on so many levels. What do you think?
