Right from his childhood days, Zach had a burning passion for the media, a passion which made him defy all imperfections and setback to uploaded a video submission to a contest sponsored by Oprah Winfrey and Harpo Productions. Oprah's "Search for the Next TV Star" contest is a chance for one "top five" finalist to compete on a reality show located in Los Angeles, California. The "top five" online finalists are determined by the number of votes their video receives. Zach's video gained over 3,000 votes landing him a place in the top 5.
He eventually won the competition; winning his own television show, $100,000, and a Chevrolet Equinox.
Zach's story is an inspiration. A guy on a wheel chair, with cerebral palsy should naturally be the last person to have a dream of becoming a TV star. TV personalities, as we know, are flawless in physical appearance. I remember the first day I saw him on the show, he was exceptional...I watched every episode up until the finale where he won. He totally deserved it.
Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.
Eleanor Roosevelt once said that "t
he future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams".
